Chris Price was appointed City Manager for the City of Chesapeake, Virginia in November 2019. Prior to his appointment, Chris was Deputy County Executive of Prince William County, Virginia where he was responsible for oversight of the County's community development agencies. Chris also served as the County's Planning Director from 2011 through 2016 and as Acting Director of Economic Development in 2019. Prior to joining Prince William County, Chris was the Executive Director of the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission in Front Royal, Virginia and the Assistant Director of Planning and Community Development for Centre County, Pennsylvania. Chris has also held Senior Planner positions with the Centre Region Council of Governments in State College, Pennsylvania and the City of Chesapeake, where he started his public service career in 1996.
Chris holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Old Dominion University, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Penn State University, and is a graduate of the University of Virginia's Senior Executive Institute. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners.
