How can I view the Operating and Capital Improvement budgets?: The budget documents can be viewed on the Budget Department’s website. Copies are provided at each Library. The Library also provides computer access for viewing documents online, as well as access to printing for a fee.

1. When are the Operating and Capital Improvement Budgets presented to City Council?: The Proposed Operating and Capital Improvement Budgets are presented to City Council in March. Technical corrections and amendments are presented to City Council for action in June.

2. Do the budgets run on a calendar year or fiscal year?: The Operating Budget runs on the fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). The Capital Improvement Plan is planned over a period of 5 future years.

3. What is the difference between Operating and Capital Budgets?: The Operating Budget is a plan of financial operation embodying an estimate of proposed revenues and expenditures for the fiscal year. The Capital Budget is a plan of proposed capital expenditures for buildings, parks, utilities, etc. and their financing sources.
