2023-2024 School Year After School Program

Age: 6 to 12

Our Stay & Play program provides recreational games, sports, arts and crafts, and special events. We believe in providing a safe and fun after-school environment where the children can be themselves. Our professional staff truly care about the welfare of your child and schedule activities so that your child can develop socially, emotionally and physically. Participants must be 6 years old and have completed kindergarten.

The program for the 2023-2024 school year will be held at the following Chesapeake community centers: Camelot, Deep Creek, Great Bridge, South Norfolk, River Crest, and Western Branch.

Program Fees

  • Registration Fee: $25 one-time fee
  • Monthly: $195 per month
  • Weekly: $60 per week
  • Daily: $25 per day

Registration for the 2023-2024 School Year

Opens in August, 2023. Stay tuned for specific date and time. Limited space is available. Registration is first-come, first-served and must be in person at the community center where your child would attend. Payment must be made at the time of registration to secure a spot. 

Program Dates & Hours

Begins: September 5, 2023

Hours: Monday through Friday, 2 to 6 p.m. This program is not held when school is closed.

Transportation

After-school transportation is provided by Chesapeake Public Schools to our community centers from certain schools which have been pre-determined by the Chesapeake Public Schools transportation department. Please contact your child's school for more information.

Reduced Fee Program

The Youth Scholarship and Reduced Fee Program offers Chesapeake families financial assistance for their child(ren) to participate in fee-based recreation programs.

Scholarships in the amount of $65 per calendar year are available for programs, clinics and classes to Chesapeake youth ages 17 and under whose family receives public assistance as defined and confirmed by the Chesapeake Human Services Department.

Reduced Fees for Summer Blast and Stay and Play may change year to year depending on fee increases. The child/family must receive public assistance as defined and confirmed by the Chesapeake Human Services Department. Summer Blast and Stay and Play Reduced Fee participants cannot add the $65 scholarship to their account. An application (PDF) must be completed (one application per child) and approved prior to registration in order to receive the reduced fee rate and spots are limited.
