Specialty Teams
The Chesapeake Fire Department Specialty Teams respond to situations where additional specialized equipment and knowledge is needed. They are highly trained and provide support across the city and in other municipalities as needed.

Station 1: South Norfolk
Part of the Special Operation Division with responsibilities for foam firefighting. The Chesapeake Fire Department has the only dedicated foam team in the Hampton Roads region.

Station 2: Portlock
Station 2 serves a large urban, suburban and industrial area. The firefighters assigned there affectionately refer to it as the "Castle of the Sleepless Knights" for their night and day call responses.

Station 3: Indian River
Station 3 is approximately 10,000 square feet building and houses 24 firefighters, six on duty each 24 hour shift. Station 3 also has one Engine Company, and an ALS medic company.

Station 4: B.M. Williams
In 1962, one year prior to the City of Chesapeake's founding, Station 4 was built on Battlefield Boulevard and identified as Washington Borough Station 2. The following year in 1963, Norfolk County and the City of South Norfolk merged, forming the City of Chesapeake and the Chesapeake Fire Department.

Station 5: Great Bridge
Fire Station 5 is a multi-company fire station located at 451 Hanbury Road West, in the heart of Great Bridge. The response area is made up of mostly single family residential and light commercial structures, which also includes the City's municipal center.

Station 6: Fentress
Fire Station 6, also known as the Fentress Fire Service Facility was constructed in 1982. It is located at the intersection of Centerville Turnpike and Whittamore Road. From this fire station, the Chesapeake Fire Department provides services to both rural and suburban landscapes.

Station 7: Saint Brides
The original Station 7 was built and opened in 1958. It opened with 1 paid firefighter and a volunteer company.

Station 8: Deep Creek
Station 8 is located in the heart of Deep Creek.

Station 9: Camelot
Fire Station 9 is home to the crews of Engine 9 and Medic 9 located in the central north section of the City of Chesapeake in the area known as Camelot.

Station 10: Bowers Hill
Fire Station 10 houses Engine 10, Ladder 10, Battalion Chief 3, and EMS 3 and serves the communities of Bowers Hill, Sunray, Holly Cove, Ahoy Acres, and Jolliff.

Station 11 covers part of the Western Branch area of the City and a section of Interstate 664.

Station 12: Western Branch
We pulled out of Station 12 on Cedar Lane in Portsmouth on January 1, 1968 at midnight. The new Station 12 on Taylor Road was under construction but did not open until 1970.

Station 13: Cornland
Fire Station 13 is located at 2900 Benefit Road in rural southwestern Chesapeake near the North Carolina line.

Station 14: Greenbrier
Station 14 was built in 1988 in the Greenbrier section of the City. The Station was designed to blend in well with the surrounding community, and from the outside, may look like a residential home with three large bay doors.

Station 15: Bells Mill
Station 15 is home of the Technical Rescue Team.
