- Swimming pool (above-ground or in-ground) - A building permit for pool and a fence permit are also required.

Five Types of Electrical Permits
Temporary Pole Permit
A temporary pole is an electrical pole made to provide electrical power during a construction project. The pole will consist of a breaker box and receptacles to provide a power source for construction tools.
Please have the following information available prior to completing your permit:
- Location of temporary pole - you must have a physical address of the property where the temporary pole will be located in order to apply for your permit online
- A Work Request Number from Dominion Virginia Power is required
- Service Size
- Underground or overhead cable
- Contract Value
Electrical New Service Permit
Please have the following information available prior to completing your permit.
- Property address of the project
- Building Permit Number
- A Work Request Number from Dominion Virginia Power.
- Service Size
Electrical Service Upgrade Only (Change of Service)
Please have the following information available prior to completing your permit.
- Property address of the project
- A Work Request Number from Dominion Virginia Power.
- Existing size of service
- Upgraded service size
Electrical Service with Additions & Repairs (Change of Service)
Please have the following information available prior to completing your permit.
- Property address of the project
- A Work Request Number from Dominion Virginia Power
- Existing size of service
- Upgraded service size
- Wiring information (size of amperage and number of circuits for additional and repair work)
- Addition and repair purposes information (example: add or repair electrical outlets, ceiling fan, etc.)
