Overview
The commission shall act in an advisory capacity to the city council in considering issues dealing with the health and well being of Chesapeake citizens, including, but not limited to, the prevention, education and treatment of substance abuse, the prevention of AIDS, health initiatives on cancer, diabetes, obesity, bullying, and such other duties as may be assigned to the commission by city council, and make its recommendations to the city council.
Please Note: The Chesapeake Commission for the Prevention of Aids and the Chesapeake Commission on Substance Abuse have merged to become the Chesapeake Commission on Health and Well Being.
