Adulticiding (killing adult mosquitos) is necessary because it is difficult to find and treat all possible places where breeding might occur. Adulticiding is performed only on an as-needed basis. At Chesapeake Mosquito Control, adulticiding is accomplished by means of a truck-mounted ULV (ultra-low volume) machine that emits an insecticide. Also used are the Argo All Terrain Vehicle (ATV), backpack foggers and handheld foggers. Our trucks have computerized monitors to show exactly how much adulticide was applied and the amount of area treated.
