APPLICANTS NEEDED FOR CITY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
CHESAPEAKE -- The Chesapeake City Council is seeking residents who may be interested in serving on various boards and commissions. Boards and commissions provide a vital service to various City departments, agencies and City Council.
Citizens wishing to serve must complete an application form. Applications are due in the City Clerk’s office by January 4, 2010. City Council will appoint candidates for these vacancies during its January 26, 2010, meeting.
Applications are currently being accepted for the following Boards and Commissions:
- Board of Historic and Architectural Review, 5 appointments
- Chesapeake City Symbol Committee, 2 appointments
- Law Library Board, 2 appointments
- Stormwater Committee, 3 appointments
In addition, applications are currently being accepted for the following previously advertised vacancies:
- Chesapeake Bicycle/Trails Advisory Committee, 1 appointment
(Must be a Farm Bureau Representative) - Groundwater Committee, 6 appointments
(Citizens) - Natural Event Mitigation Advisory Committee, 1 appointment
(Must be a Non-Profit Organization Representative) - Transportation Safety Commission, 1 appointment
