ROAD CLOSURE ON GILMERTON BRIDGE
| AFFECTED AREAS: | Gilmerton Bridge |
| DATES: | Work will take place from 8:00 p.m. Friday evening to 5:00 a.m. Monday morning on the following dates: Friday, October 2 – Monday, October 5 Friday, October 9 – Monday, October 12 Openings for vessels will occur every two hours, on the hour, for waterway traffic. Vessels using the waterway require a two hour advance notice. |
| INFORMATION: | The Gilmerton Bridge will be closed for repairs to the fender system. Detour signs will be posted for motorists. The Gilmerton Bridge was built in 1938, crosses the southern branch of the Elizabeth River, and carries an average of 35,500 cars each day. |
