APPLICANTS NEEDED FOR CITY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
CHESAPEAKE -- The Chesapeake City Council is seeking residents who may be interested in serving on various boards and commissions. Boards and commissions provide a vital service to various City departments, agencies and City Council.
Citizens wishing to serve must complete an application form. Applications are due in the City Clerk’s office by July 1, 2009. City Council will appoint candidates for these vacancies during its July 28, 2009, meeting.
Applications are currently being accepted for the following Boards and Commissions:
- Chesapeake Historic Preservation Commission, 1 appointment
- Chesapeake Interagency Consortium, 1 appointment
(Non-Profit Organization Representative) - Economic Development Authority, 2 appointments
- Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia, 2 appointments
- Stormwater Committee, 1 appointment
In addition, applications are currently being accepted for the following previously advertised vacancies:
- Chesapeake Bicycle/Trails Advisory Committee, 1 appointment
(Farm Bureau Representative) - Chesapeake Community Criminal Justice Board, 2 appointments
(One must be an Attorney) - Groundwater Committee, 6 appointments
- Transportation Toll Facility Advisory Committee, 2 appointments
(One must be an attorney; one must have a business background)
