COUNCIL ON YOUTH SERVICES TO HOST LEGISLATIVE BREAKFAST
CHESAPEAKE -- The Chesapeake Council on Youth Services (CCOYS) will host its 20th Annual Legislative Breakfast on Tuesday, December 2, at 7:30 a.m., at the Chesapeake Conference Center.
This annual event provides a forum for discussion and exchange of information between the Chesapeake General Assembly Delegation, the Chesapeake Youth Committee, CCOYS, key City officials, community leaders, professionals serving children and families, and the public. Virginia Senator Harry B. Blevins, Delegate S. Chris Jones, and Delegate Lionell Spruill, Sr., are scheduled to attend. Additional General Assembly members may also be in attendance at the event.
Topics to be addressed during the breakfast include an overview of legislation and funding affecting youth and families in the areas of mental health, juvenile delinquency and truancy, and permanency planning for children as required by federal law.
