CITY MODIFIES HOURS IN OBSERVANCE OF VETERANS DAY
CHESAPEAKE –- Chesapeake City government offices, courts, public libraries and community centers will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, in observance of Veterans Day.
Normal operating schedules will resume on Wednesday, November 12. Library book drops will remain open throughout the period for the return of materials.
Residents whose trash is regularly collected on Tuesday will have their collection on Wednesday, November 12.
The Chesapeake Mayor’s Commission on Veterans’ Affairs will hold a wreath-laying ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, 2008. The ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Chesapeake Veterans’ Memorial in front of City Hall, 306 Cedar Road. The public is invited to attend.
