NEW DIRECTOR OF CHESAPEAKE COMMUNITY SERVICES BOARD SELECTED
CHESAPEAKE — The Board of Directors for the Chesapeake Community Services Board (CCSB) has announced its selection of Joe Scislowicz for the position of Executive Director. He will begin on December 10, 2007.
Mr. Scislowicz has a Masters in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Sex Offender Treatment provider. He is currently the Director of Clinical Treatment Services at Western Tidewater CSB, where he has worked since 1979. He has been actively involved with leadership at the regional and statewide level.
“Replacing our Executive Director, Ms. Candace Waller, who has faithfully served the citizens of Chesapeake for twenty-one years, was a most difficult task for the Board,” said Richard Losea, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Service Board. “We conducted a nation-wide search and believe that Mr. Scislowicz is fully qualified to provide the leadership and guidance to ensure that Chesapeake’s residents receive the very best services from our Community Services Board.”
The Chesapeake Community Services Board (CCSB) is an agency of the City of Chesapeake with a 12-member citizen board appointed by the Chesapeake City Council. Services and programs include mental health, mental retardation, infant intervention, and substance abuse services. CSB programs are supported by local, state, and federal tax dollars; third party payers such as private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare; and consumer fees. Services are licensed by the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services. The board serves over 4,000 Chesapeake residents each year.
“I appreciate the honor of being selected as Executive Director of the Chesapeake Community Services Board and look forward to serving the citizens of the City of Chesapeake,” said Mr. Scislowicz. “I feel very fortunate to be chosen to lead such a well run organization, with experienced staff, dedicated board of directors and strong support of City leaders."
Citizens who would like more information about available services can call the Community Services Board at 547-9334.
