The city will not be rezoning land or changing the Western Branch Plan as part of this study. The area is approximately 6.6 square miles in size and is bounded by Pughesville Road to the north, I-664 to the east, Military Highway to the south and the Chesapeake/Suffolk cityline to the west.

BTG, Delta Research Division has been selected to assist the City with this study. Their Newport News office is managing the project. BTG will be using a technological approach to the study through the use of geographic information system (GIS), facilities modeling and fiscal impact analysis. Go to http://webologist.deltabtg.com/demo/newportnews/index.htm for more information on the consultant.
The timeframe for completion is six months. This does not include any public hearings.
