Picnic Shelters

Picnic Shelters at Chesapeake parks are for use on a first-come, first-served basis. "Holding" of the shelters is not permitted. For example, you may not hold the shelter all day in order to use it in the afternoon. This prevents others from enjoying the facilities.

At Northwest River Park. have lunch near the riverfront or grill hot dogs next to Molly Mitchell Meadow. Check out a volleyball net for the adults while the kids play on the playground. Have a large group? Reserve one of the Park's shelters.

Reservations for shelters may also be made at Chesapeake City Park, Crestwood Park, Deep Creek Lock Park, Great Bridge Lock Park, Lakeside Park and Western Branch Park. Click on the following links for rental policy and applications or call Parks and Recreation Special Programs at 757-382-6411.
