Melrico and Juliet Morido have created a simplistically beautiful and interesting landscape with an Asian motif. Repetitive touches create order, symmetry, and a feeling of calm. Sprial juniper is the star in several raised beds, filled with rocks, and surrounded by decorative brick borders. Liariape and red begonias are planted in simple, uncrowded patterns in the beds. The landscape feels like a meditative garden.

Interesting trees are planted in a singular fashion so that their graceful shapes are emphasized. Tree varieties include weeping blue atlas, Asian pear, crepe myrtle, and persimmon.

The yard is designed as an outdoor living space suitable for a young family. A covered patio area with a table and chairs was designed and created by Melrico. He created an interesting pattern by simply having a wider mortar area between patio stones. Several benches throughout the backyard provide comfortable seating areas. The family also has a hot tub. A vegetable garden is planted in several decorative pots.
