Neighborhood Inspections Unit
The Neighborhood Inspections Unit, Department of Neighborhood Services enforces the City Code, Property Maintenance Code, Zoning Code and Uniform Statewide Building Code to maintain the safety and appearance of the existing buildings. Code Enforcement works closely with other city agencies such as Fire Department, Police Department, Health Department, Social Services, Animal Control, Construction Inspections, and Neighborhood Services Coordination to ensure the citizens of the City of Chesapeake have safe housing and quality neighborhoods.
The Neighborhood Inspections Unit enforces city code regulations relating to the following:
