Spring Aerial Larvicide

The Chesapeake Mosquito Control Commission will conduct aerial spraying operations beginning 4/1/09, weather permitting, to decrease the population of larval mosquitoes.
Operations will take place from approximately
6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., for a period of
about five days. If the weather is not
favorable, the spraying will be
rescheduled to the next favorable weekday.
Chesapeake Mosquito Control Commission
The City of Chesapeake consists of three Districts operating as one Mosquito Control Commission. Mosquito control is important to the community because of the potential threat of the insect to transmit diseases and create a nuisance that can disrupt outdoor activities. Various species of mosquitoes are capable of transmitting malaria, yellow fever, encephalitis and other diseases.
