Our Vision

CFM is fully committed to continuously improve fleet management services and maintain all vehicles and equipment to the highest levels of safety and operational readiness. CFM will employ the best management practices and provide cost effective and timely services to support our customer’s needs. CFM will set the example in efforts to contribute to a cleaner environment and to the conservation of the City’s natural resources.

Our Mission

To provide efficient and cost-effective delivery of fleet management services by providing safe, reliable, economical, and environmentally sound transportation services that are responsive to the needs of our customers and which preserve the value of the vehicle and equipment investment. Through this mission, we practice sound environmental stewardship and management of City assets and resources to enable our customers to better serve the citizens of Chesapeake.

Our Goals

The Central Fleet Will:

  • Provide high quality vehicle maintenance and fleet services at a competitive price.
  • Maximize the return on vehicle investment by standardizing the fleet and capitalizing on new vehicle technologies and American fuels.
  • Establish a fully-funded fleet replacement plan.
  • Provide a highly trained, ASE and EVT certified, technical workforce.
  • Set the example in practicing environmental stewardship.
  • Provide quality-fueling services at a competitive price.
  • Provide a safe working environment.
  • Improve employee retention.
  • Return vehicles to our customers as soon as possible and in less than four workdays.
