Finance Department

The Finance Department is responsible for insuring the financial integrity of the City governments operations. The department provides prompt and cost effective administration of debt, maintains account records and prepares financial statements and other reports of the financial condition of the City including the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), provides studies and recommendations on various subjects, provides financial administration of federal grants, audits and processes vendor payments, audits and processes employee payroll, and acts as liaison for the various City accounting divisions.

2007 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)

This is the entire 266-page CAFR in a PDF file (4.3 Mb). The entire report is also on file at the City Clerk's Office and at the Chesapeake Central Library.

Note: The 2007 CAFR has not been updated for developments subsequent to the date of the independent auditor's report.
