Garage Sales
Residents are permitted to have up to two (2) garage /yard sales from their homes during a calendar year. Garage sale permits cost $5.00 and are issued by the Commissioner of the Revenue.
Garage sale means any sale operated out of a single-family dwelling or a two-family dwelling or a multi-family dwelling, being of two hours duration or more.
Goods means any goods, wares, merchandise or any other property capable of being the object of a sale regulated under this article.

No garage sale shall be held until the person conducting such sale shall have first obtained a garage sale permit from the Office of the Commissioner of the Revenue.

The fee for such permit shall be $5.00.

Application for more than two permits for the same address within one year shall be reason for the denial of the permit by the commissioner of the revenue.
REQUIREMENTS
The following general operating requirements shall apply to all garage sales:

There shall be no parking on any main thoroughfare in which a garage sale is being conducted.

It shall be unlawful for any person to hold more than two garage sales at the same location within one year.

It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct a garage sale lasting longer than three consecutive days.

No signs advertising the sale or giving directions to its location shall be used, erected or allowed, except one sign shall be allowed in the front yard of the sale location and one additional sign on private property with the owner’s permission, shall be allowed at the terminus of side and collector street where the streets intersect major thoroughfares during the time of the sale. All such signs shall be removed within 24 hours of the conclusion of such sale.
