Brazilian Teacher Visit by Brazilian Teacher
Ana Paula Beato Canato - January 2006

Ana Paula Beato Canto is an English teacher from Chesapeake's Sister City Joinville Brazil. She came to Chesapeake to learn more about the Pen Pal program and how it can be expanded. Following her trip, Ms. Canato wrote a letter to the committee, describing her trip this way, “I can proudly and gratefully say that what was supposed to be a part of my doctoral research and a tentative expansion of the pen pal project among our cities became one of the best experiences I have ever had, a time for sharing, learning and meeting new friends...”

The third annual event raised $3900 for Sister Cities programs. A totla of 186 bowlers (31 teams) came out for a little bit of friendly competition and lots of fun. If you'd like to be involved next year, let us know. Members were busy organizing the event, taking registrations, finding prizes, and having a great time the day of the event.
