Best Initiative - Advancing Youth Development (AYD)
A system of training for the professional development of youth workers offered to youth serving organizations. A curriculum designed to leverage the knowledge skills and abilities of adults who interact with youth to apply the principals of positive youth development.
Chesapeake Council On Youth Services’ (CCOYS) Legislative Breakfast
This annual event provides a forum for the discussion and exchange of pertinent information between one hundred of our local General Assembly Legislators, the Chesapeake Youth Committee, the Chesapeake Council On Youth Services, key City representatives, youth serving professionals, community leaders and youth representatives.
This event takes place during the Fall of the year.
Gang Education and Awareness
Training inform and educate the community about potential gang-related problems and identify and recommend actions and strategies to prevent gang activities.
The trainings rotate among each district of the City.
Hampton Roads Youth Services Conference
This yearly event provides training and professional growth to youth serving agencies and providers during a 2-day conference through keynote speakers and workshops.
The conference takes place in late October.
