Rabies

All dogs and cats over four months of age must be vaccinated against rabies.

If an animal is suspected of having rabies, contact Chesapeake Animal Control Unit immediately to report its location, 382-8080.

For treatment information, contact the Public Health Department, 382-8672.

A rabies vaccination is required for all dogs and cats. Licensing can be obtained from the City Treasurer.
