Street Closure Petition

 

What is a Street Closure Petition?

A street closure petition is required when an owner of property located adjacent to a street or other public right-of-way seeks to close the street or other public right-of-way and convert it to private property.

 

Application Deadline

Monday prior to the 2nd Wednesday of the month by 5 p.m.

Planning Commission Public Hearings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.

Applicant Responsibilities

  • A complete Street Closure Petition application form.
    The original and three (3) copies of the complete Street Closure Petition application, with original signatures on one copy, including all required development information
  • Payment of Filing Fee
  • Post a sign (supplied by the Planning Department) two Wednesdays prior to the Planning Commission Public Hearing),
      Sign fee is $25 for first sign and $20 for each additional sign.
  • Advertising Fees will be billed separately. The average cost is $100 per advertisement, with a minimum of four (4) advertisements required.
  • Site Plan & Maps
      Street Closure Exhibit - reduced to 8½” x 11” paper.
      Vicinity Map - reduced to 8½” x 11” paper.
  • Notarized Signatures from all affected Property Owners (page 5)
  • Title Certification indicating fee simple ownership of ROW
