Chesapeake, One of the Best Places to Live in America

Chesapeake Farmers Market

Hurricane Earl: Hurricane Earl is currently a category 4 hurricane. A tropical storm warning/hurricane watch is in effect. Chesapeake residents should continue to make preparations, including gathering kit supplies.

Emergency Management is recommending that people in areas prone to tidal flooding take extra precautions as the storm approaches the coast. Tides are expected to be 2-3 feet above normal during the Friday morning high tide (4am) and winds at 25-35 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph. This is 2-3 ft below November's nor'easter. Consider moving cars to higher ground and secure loose objects around the exterior of your home. Chesapeake Storm Surge Map

Trash collection will be as scheduled on Friday.

Updates will be posted here, Facebook and Twitter.
